The front of each shirt depicts all stages of a lobster’s life, front & center and the words Zone C Lobster Hatchery, Stonington, Maine. These are not your usual bright red, cooked version of a lobster, but rather the actual color of lobsters found in the wild. The back is plain. Sizes vary from a child’s small to an adult’s XXXL and cost between $10 and $20 each.
The film is jointly conceived by Penobscot East Resource Center and filmmaker Cecily Pingree to document and celebrate Maine’s great fishing history, and to explore why, for profound reasons, it is so important to secure a future for the fishing communities of eastern Maine. This is the mission of Penobscot East Resource Center.
