Marianna Bradley, Duke University Intern marianna@penobscoteast.org
Marianna Bradley grew up in the Florida Keys and attended Coral Shores High School. By her senior year Marianna was an advanced scuba diver and had spent much of her free time voluntarily working with local scientists and non-profits collecting data on coral reefs. Looking for a change, Marianna decided to attend College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine. While at COA Marianna became deeply interested in marine sciences and fisheries management, spending her summers and free time pursuing these interests. Since graduating Marianna has worked and lived in Miami and Key West, Florida working in the sciences and in the Fall of 2009 began graduate school at Duke University pursuing a professional master’s degree in Coastal Environmental Management. She is currently the Northeast Coastal Communities Fishing Sector intern, helping with the Downeast Groundfish Initiative’s sentinel fishery project, working to rebuild a sustainable groundfish fishery in eastern Maine.
