Community Lobster Sales

Penobscot East along with the support of the Town of Stonington pioneered the first community lobster sale in Maine when the lobster price dropped precipitously in October 2008. Hundreds of people showed up in Stonington to buy 4,441 lbs of lobster, an event which received international press coverage. We continue to advise communities who want to start their own "LOBSTER BUY" events and partner with other organizations to hold direct-to-consumer lobster sales.
